The Problem

Indoor air quality has moved from a facilities concern to a compliance and liability concern. And the documentation bar keeps rising.

ASHRAE 241 established the first building standard specifically targeting infection risk through clean air delivery, creating new procurement requirements for institutional buyers. OSHA's General Duty Clause holds employers accountable for known airborne hazards. The Joint Commission and CMS set enforceable environmental standards for healthcare.

Mercury is on its way out. Globally. Through regulatory action. The technology that has run air sanitization for a century is on a hard deadline. The market needs a replacement.

The exposure isn't just biological. It's legal, reputational, and regulatory.

The question procurement and risk teams are now asking isn't "should we do something about air quality?" It's "what can we actually stand behind when someone asks?"
Most products in this space answer that question with a brochure. UV-Clear answers it with a test report, a patent, and a testing roadmap.

HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW THE OTHER PRODUCTS?

Ask others how long they run their product before measuring their claimed 99% inactivation, and at what power draw. And did they add PTFE reflective material?

Their response may shock you. If they reply.

The core innovation: a patented passive cooling approach that keeps a dense array of UV-C LEDs viable in fast-moving air, is protected by an issued U.S. utility patent.

The testing is being conducted by an accredited independent laboratory following recognized ASHRAE methodology. And the testing roadmap is designed specifically to produce the documentation that institutional procurement requires.

The Solution

UV-Clear™ is built around the standards and metrics compliance buyers actually evaluate. And we're transparent about exactly where we stand on each one.

The platform is a solid-state UV-C LED system that installs directly into existing HVAC ductwork and inactivates airborne pathogens on every pass of air through the system. No mercury. No ozone. No occupant UV exposure. The germicidal process happens entirely inside the ductwork, continuously, without disrupting building operations.

We're not finished. But we're further along than the documentation trail of most products in this category. And we'll show you exactly where every proof point stands.

COMPLETE

Preliminary ASHRAE 185.1-2020 calibration

UV-Clear™ was tested against ASHRAE 185.1/2 standards with no PTFE reflective materials added to the duct and no burn-in where the device is running before measurement begins. To our knowledge, we are the first UV-C device tested in this manner which was designed to simulate real-world installations and field deployments across all moving air environments. UV-Clear™s prototype device, under 50% power load, was certified by AirMid to provide a 64% first-pass inactivation of MS2 bacteriophage at 2000 CFM

This is a first data point from a prototype still in calibration, an opening result, not a finished spec. More is on the way.

PHASE 2 TESTING UNDERWAY

ASHRAE 241 Schedule F compliance

H1N1 testing on both high and low power settings is actively in progress, specifically targeting ASHRAE 241 Schedule F procurement compliance. Schedule F is the standard your institutional procurement team will require before approving a germicidal UV specification. We are not claiming 241 compliance today. We are showing you the testing roadmap, where we are on it, and what comes next.

ISSUED

IP position

The core thermal innovation is protected by an issued U.S. utility patent US 12,588,134 B2. The patent covers the passive cooling approach that makes dense UV-C LED arrays viable in fast-moving air. This is the barrier that separates UV-Clear™ from off-the-shelf LED products that burn out under real duct conditions.

WORKING HYPOTHESIS 30–50

Equivalent Air Exchange (eACH)

Based on system geometry, airflow parameters, and first-pass test results, our current scientific and mathematical hypothesis places UV-Clear™'s equivalent clean air delivery contribution in the 30–50 eACH range for standard commercial duct configurations. This is a working projection, not yet a certified figure, it will be validated and refined as Phase 2 testing progresses. We're telling you the hypothesis now because compliance buyers deserve to know the number we're working toward, not just that we're "testing."

MANUFACTURE-READY

The platform design is finalized

The product line - ClearFlow 120, ClearFlow 240, ClearFlow 480, is production-ready across small commercial to large institutional air handler configurations. You are not buying a concept or a prototype pipeline.

You are engaging with a production-ready system that is still accumulating proof points.

Why It Matters for Your Organization

Hospitals and health systems

Joint Commission and CMS requirements for infection control and environmental safety are enforceable and auditable. UV-Clear™ operates continuously inside ductwork; no scheduling adjustments, no occupant disruption, no UV exposure risk, while contributing to a documented and auditable air quality posture. When a surveyor asks what you have in place, you have a test report, a patent, and an active Phase 2 testing program to reference.

Public institutions and government agencies

Federal and state mandates on indoor air quality are tightening. UV-Clear™'s independent testing methodology, IP position, and transparent validation roadmap provide the documentation trail that procurement and legal teams require before committing to infrastructure. The testing follows recognized ASHRAE methodology. The results are from an accredited independent lab. The patent is issued and public.

Legal and risk management departments

Demonstrable, third-party-validated action on airborne pathogen risk. Not a policy statement. Not a poster on the wall. A system with a test report behind it, a patent number, and a testing roadmap showing what comes next. When a question of liability arises, the answer is documentation. And UV-Clear™ is built to produce it.

Large enterprises

OSHA General Duty Clause exposure for known airborne hazards is a real and growing liability in any workplace where pathogen transmission risk is recognized. UV-Clear™ provides a continuously operating, documented layer of protection, mercury-free, occupant-safe, and designed around the methodology your EHS and legal teams will recognize.

Procurement teams

You need to justify the specification. UV-Clear™ gives you three things to point to: an issued U.S. utility patent, a completed first-pass test report following ASHRAE 185.1-2020 from an accredited independent lab, and an active Phase 2 testing program targeting ASHRAE 241 Schedule F compliance. That's a documentation trail, not a brochure. And because we're telling you exactly where we are in the validation process, you're not inheriting the risk of a vendor who overclaims and underdelivers.

UV-Clear™ Safe by Design

UV-C where it works. Away from where people are.

UV-Clear™ operates entirely inside the ductwork. There is no UV-C exposure pathway to building occupants, not from above, not from in-room devices, not from surface treatments that off-gas or produce byproducts. The germicidal process happens in the duct, on the air, before it reaches the people inside.

Where We Stand

Relevant Standards and Regulations

ASHRAE 185.1-2020

Method of Testing UV-C Lights for Use in Air-Handling Units or Air Ducts to Inactivate Airborne Microorganisms. The methodology used in UV-Clear's completed first-pass independent testing. This is the recognized standard for evaluating in-duct UV-C systems, not a proprietary test protocol.

IN PROGRESS

ASHRAE 241-2023

Control of Infectious Aerosols. The first standard specifically addressing infection risk reduction through clean air delivery. Establishes equivalent clean air delivery rate (eACH) targets by space type. UV-Clear Phase 2 testing is actively targeting Schedule F procurement compliance.

ASHRAE 62.1

Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality. The ventilation standard enforced by most jurisdictions. In configurations where UV-Clear™ satisfies clean air delivery requirements, it may reduce required outdoor air ventilation rates, decreasing energy load rather than increasing it.

Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards (EC.02.06.01)

Healthcare organizations must maintain safe physical environments, including air quality in patient care areas. UV-Clear™'s in-duct operation produces no occupant UV exposure, no mercury, and no ozone, and is backed by independent third-party testing following recognized methodology.

CMS Conditions of Participation

Hospitals and skilled nursing facilities must meet federal standards for infection control and environmental safety. UV-Clear™ operates continuously and passively inside ductwork, with no impact on occupant schedules or building operations.

Mercury Global Regulations

Mercury is on its way out. Globally. Through regulatory action. The technology that has run air sanitization for a century is on a hard deadline.

Sustainable + Climate-aligned.

Effective air quality. Energy efficient.

UV-Clear™ inactivates airborne pathogens without mercury, without ozone, and without the energy penalty that filtration and ventilation upgrades introduce. In many configurations it reduces fan load; meaning net energy savings, not added cost. Healthier buildings and lower carbon footprints aren't competing goals. With UV-Clear™, they're the same goal.
